Агрос — выдающаяся деревня!
Кипрская деревня Агрос (ударение на второй слог) включена в список 20 самых привлекательных, но пока малоизвестных для туризма мест в Европе. Об этом стало известно по итогам VII Европейского туристического форума, прошедшего с 17 по 19 сентября в Бордо под эгидой Еврокомиссии и председательствующей в ЕС Франции.
В этом году в конкурсе в рамках проекта Еврокомиссии «Выдающиеся туристические объекты Европы» (EDEN) приняли участие 18 стран. Целью EDEN является привлечение внимания к потенциальным местам туристического отдыха и их популяризация. Темой EDEN в этом году являлся «Туризм и нематериальное наследие Европы».
Основными критериями конкурсного отбора были уникальное местоположение объекта, наличие интересных достопримечательностей и ярких личностей, развитая инфосреда и активная туристическая деятельность, а также
организация и проведение всевозможных фестивалей и конкурсов.
EDEN является проектом Еврокомиссии, старт которому был дан в 2006 году. Цель проекта — использование туристического потенциала стран-членов. В прошлом году в нем приняло участие 10 стран, в этом — 18. В прошлом году победа на национальном конкурсе досталась горному массиву Троодос, которому удалось обойти красоты Ларнаки и Пафоса.
В этом году национальное жюри решило, что Агрос, расположенный в предгорьях Троодоса, является «идеальным местом, которое можно посетить в любое время года, в котором развивается индустрия производства знаменитой розовой воды и которое предлагает уникальную возможность стать участником местных празднований, отражающих культурное наследие местности и красоту окружающей природы». Одним из таких празднований является фестиваль роз, проводимый в мае.
