Катарские инвестиции в Кипр стали тем долгожданным спусковым механизмом, который дал старт процессу вложения денег в кипрскую экономику. Как утверждает министр торговли, промышленности и туризма Антонис Пасхалидис, вслед за катарцами многие иностранные частные и государственные компании арабского мира, стран Европы и Америки выразили желание инвестировать значительные суммы в экономику Кипра.

На прошлой неделе состоялась пресс-конференция, посвященная работе министерства торговли, промышленности и туризма за два года после победы на президентских выборах Димитриса Христофиаса. Выступая перед журналистами, Антонис Пасхалидис заявил, что после подписания договора между Кипром и Катаром о возведении роскошного гостиничного комплекса в Никосии многие главы иностранных посольств на Кипре и представители частных компаний из других государств проинформировали министерство о том, что заинтересованы в инвестициях в Кипр.

Как утверждает депутат парламента от партии DIKO Никос Клеантус, иностранные инвесторы готовы вложить в Ларнаку около одного миллиарда евро. По мнению депутата, кипрские власти должны сделать все возможное, чтобы свести к минимуму бюрократические процедуры при заключении сделок и получении разрешений на строительство с участием иностранного капитала.

Среди проектов, которые будут осуществлены на Кипре в ближайшее время, значатся марины: в Лимассоле стоимостью 300 млн. евро и вместимостью 1000 яхт и лодок, а также в Айя-Напе (600 судов; 200 млн. евро) и Пафосе (1000 судов; 300 млн. евро). Кипрские власти намерены довести количество гольф-полей до 14 (сейчас существуют только три). В деревне Пентакомо будет возведен Технологический парк, на который власти готовы потратить 21,5 млн. евро.

Что касается геологоразведки потенциальных запасов нефти и газа у берегов Кипра, то интерес к участию во втором туре тендера выразили «очень большие игроки» мировой нефтегазовой отрасли. В конце года начнет свою работу первый парк ветряных мельниц в деревне Оритис. Во второй половине 2011 года будут открыты еще три парка по выработке электроэнергии с помощью ветра.

Оценивая ситуацию в сфере туризма, министр признал наличие проблем. Негативное влияние на туристический поток оказало извержение вулкана в Исландии и выброс вулканического пепла в атмосферу, который стал причиной коллапса в сфере авиаперевозок Европы.

Благодаря поддержке правительства, в кризисном 2009 году объем турпотока снизился на 10,9% вместо 30-40%, спрогнозированных ранее экспертами. В прошлом году киприоты продемонстрировали большую заинтересованность в отдыхе в отелях на территории Кипра. Местные жители провели в кипрских отелях в общей сложности около 1,3 млн. ночей.

Правительство, по-видимому, изучит вопрос открытия казино на территории Республики Кипр. Даже несмотря на принципиальную позицию президента Димитриса Христофиаса, который ранее заявлял, что пока он у власти, казино на Кипре не бывать.
